Message Too many people jump on the 'bigger is always better' bandwagon in the automotive world. Truth is that as long as you can get the brakes to lock up at temperature with a given tire, then brakes are fine. However, the arguments made above aren't entirely wrong, but they missed something important. While a BBK may have a larger rotor it also tends to have a larger caliper. Larger calipers will have more thermal mass. So that may be the true 'thermal' benefit.

One thing to may also want to consider is venting the engine compartment above the brake master cylinder and clutch master cylinder. I believe the Border hood actually did this. However it was on the drivers side for a RHD car and thus has no effect on LHD cars (unless you need to cool the battery). If the fluid was totally ruined, I'd suspect part of the problem is the heat coming up from the driver side turbo and downpipe. Something to look into. Although, more aggressive brake fluid is probably the easiest and best fix.
